A pond that won’t hold water isn’t much use to a property owner. That was the problem facing our client in Fayetteville, Texas. The existing pond had been constructed using unsuitable soil, leaving it unable to retain water as intended.
Texas Ranch Resources was brought in to correct the problem and complete the property owner’s plans for the pond. The project involved re-excavating the existing pond, installing a 40-mil liner, and constructing a custom dock to create a more functional and enjoyable outdoor space.
Giving the Existing Pond a Fresh Start
The renovation began with re-excavating and preparing the pond for the installation of a new liner.
Proper pond preparation is an important part of the process. The excavation must provide a suitable surface for the liner, with attention given to the pond’s contours, slopes, and overall shape.
Once the excavation work was completed, our crew installed a 40-mil pond liner to provide a water-retaining barrier. This addressed the original pond’s inability to hold water without relying on the unsuitable soil to provide a watertight seal.

Completing the Pond with a Custom Dock
With the pond renovation underway, the project also included construction of a custom dock. This addition gives the property owners a dedicated place to access and enjoy the water.
